January 1, 2017 - IFWG Publishing announces the release of South Florida author, Louis K. Lowy's novel, To Dream: Anatomy of a Humachine.

Guilt ridden over the death of her 17-year-old son, Jay, scientist Niyati Bopari heads a team that creates a Humachine (human machine) for mega-corporation Ameri- Inc. Niyati dubs the Humachine J -1, and creates it in Jay’s image. She secretly infuses it with Jay’s DNA. J-1 is the most sophisticated robot ever created and its purpose is to replace human labor. Before J-1 and his blueprints can be transported to Ameri-Inc. headquarters a rogue Ameri-Inc. agent attempts to steal them.

Anatomy of a Humachine is a science fiction tour de force spanning two centuries and crossing two planets. Book I: To Dream centers on J-1, an artificial intelligence struggling to find his humanity; the grieving scientist who created him; the ruthless head of the corporation who owns him; and the iron-willed leader of a rebel force seeking revenge for the death of her family and the destruction of her planet.

March 9, 2017. IFWG Publishing acquires the rights to Pedal. "We are very pleased indeed to have acquired the rights to publish Louis K. Lowy's Pedal, an inspiring literary novel about empowering women, set in the unique world of bicycle racing."

May 18, 2017 IFWG PUBLISHING re-releases PEDAL.  "This contemporary novel examines the life of 49-year-old elementary school music teacher, Joanne Brick, who is fired and struggles to reclaim her life back through bicycle racing. This uplifting story tells how Joanne -- who lives with her bossy older sister, and ailing mother – deals with unemployment, loneliness and loss of self-worth. Pedal is a contemporary family drama based around the theme of daring to change and how ordinary people handle life's turning points."

March 13, 2015 - IFWG Publishing rereleses a new edition of Die Laughing. Originally published in 2011, the rerelease features minor changes, including tan colored pages reminiscent of a 1950s pulp magazine. More importantly, it allowed me to correct a few typos and (dare I admit it?) tighten up a few sentences.

My poem "Poetry Workshop (Mary had a little lamb)" beat out over 800 entries to win second prize in Winning Writer's 2009 Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest. Winning Writers editor Jendi Reiter said of it, "Poetry Workshop (Mary had a little lamb)" is clever light verse that makes a serious point. Too often, I hear from writers whose original voice has been "workshopped" into oblivion...As the ending of Lowy's poem shows, when writers are encouraged to trust everyone else's opinion more than their own, they stop doing the work that they alone can do." It's available to read online at Winning Writers website.
