I couldn't have asked for a better night! There was more than a full house. I saw old friends and met new ones. The crowd was engaged and the Q&A session was filled with terrific questions. The event was live streamed via Facebook for those who couldn't attend in person. Special thanks to Brenda Roman, whom I shared the podium with, South Florida Writers Association for sponsoring this event and the staff of Books & Books, who, as always, was wonderful.

What a wonderful evening! The room was standing room only and I had the honor of being introduced by noted author, John Dufresne. Those who attended asked great questions about the book and writing in general. The highlight was greeting old and new fans.
April 12-14, 2016 - Broward College Literary Festival 2016
Davie, FL - I was thrilled to appear with some wonderful writers in this inaugural event. The students and staff were wonderful. The students asked engaging questions and many had a great interest in writing their own stories.

What a great afternoon. I was invited to speak to the students at McFatter Tech High School in Davie, FL. They and their teachers were a wonderful group who had a genuine thirst for knowledge. I left knowing that despite the trepidation we see on the news, the future is in good hands.

In a few words, it was an incredible evening! I was fortunate enough to have the terrific author, John Dufresne introduce me. The audience was larger than I expected. They reacted to the passages I read in the way that I hoped they would, and then later asked thoughtful questions. For this author, it doesn’t get any better than that.

Sponsored by South Florida Writer's Association, I had the privilege of reading my poem "Miami International Airport" at Pinecrest Gardens, FL, as part of the Smithsonian Institution's traveling exhibit honoring the American Worker.
2015 SAINT CLOUD, FL AUTHOR SYMPOSIUM
I had a ball at the symposium, which featured Florida-based authors. It was held in the wonderful St. Cloud Library. The sponsers, fans and fellow writers were terrific. I'm looking forward to next year's gathering.

2014-2015 Miami-Dade County Public Library Book Reading Series
I had the privilege of conducting readings/discussions for Miami-Dade Public Libraries. My journeys took me from one end of the county to the other over a six-month period. It was wonderful to see the various people who attended. They consisted of all ages and all types.
Sept. 14, 2014 - FIU / Barnes & Nobles Writers On The Bay Series presented the CRW/MFA Alumni Reading. I was honored to have been invited along with seven other amazing writers. May 3, 2014 - Tate's Free Comic Day Festival - Lauderhill, FL.
Tate's Comics is one of Florida's premiere comic and anime stores. They hosted an annual Free Comic Day. I was invited to participate in it. Over 3,000 people attended. Here are a few pics from the event.

- It was a full house at Books & Books in Coral Gables. Editor John Dufresne and five of the authors who contributed to the book were present. The crowd was amazing. I had a great time reading for so many wonderful people.
Mar. 6-9, 2013 - AWP Conference (Association of Writers & Writing Programs) in Boston, MA.
Over 11,000 people attended this four day event. It was a writer and book lovers paradise. Snow flurries tumbled day two and three. For someone who grew up in Miami, it was exciting to see. Just as exciting were the hundreds of panels and readings that went on over the four days that I was there. Below are some highlights.
Nov. 10, 2012 - 1st Annual Writer's Network of South Florida Book Fair
I was honored to be a part of the inaugural WNSF Book Fair held at the Art/Serve Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale. I had the pleasure of catching up with fellow authors Deborah Sharp and Prudence Taylor Board, and meeting other writers such as Darrell House and Ruth Hartman Berge. I even won a raffle! If you get a chance check out the (blue lettered) WNSF link, they're a great organization and well worth getting involved with as a writer or as a lover of books. May 18, 2012 - Friday Night Writers After-party
Writing workshops can be stressed out affairs, particularly when it's your piece that's being discussed. On the other hand, it's good to be with others who share your passion. I'm a member of the Friday Night Writers workshop. It includes many talented writers, and is led by the wonderful author, John Dufresne. On the last session before our summer break we all celebrate with a drink and good cheer. Here we are hanging out and talking shop.
April 12, 2012 - Braddock H.S. Writer's Workshop
I had the pleasure of conducting a writer's workshop for a great bunch of high school students. It was a fun affair and their stories were terrific. Here I am discussing points with some of the talented writers in the group.
Feb. 18-19, 2012 MegaCon book signing, Orlando, FL.
MegaCon is the largest Comic Book, Sci-Fi, Anime, convention in the Southeast U.S. I was thrilled when my publisher, IFWG invited me to sign copies of Die Laughing at their booth. Because the story takes place in the 1950s, I had 45rpm records made up to pass out as souvenirs. Over a hundred were handed out. When they brought them to the table they were given a raffle ticket for some great prizes. People loved the records. As you can see from the pictures, a terrific time was had by all.

I love being at comic book stores. The people who run them are so nice. This was no exception, the owner, Mike, is a great guy, and I can't thank enough the people who took time from their holiday weekend to make it out there. Most were friends and acquaintances. I was completely unaware that some of them would attend. It made my day special.

Park Road Books is a great indie bookstore that was started in 1976. The people who work there are terrific. It was a wonderful crowd and a great evening.
Oct. 4, 2011 Braddock High School
I was invited to do Die Laughing book readings for students of Braddock H.S. in South Miami, FL. Every hour, four or five classes would file into the media center. It went from 8:30 until 2:20 with a half-hour for lunch. It was exhausting but a heck of a lot of fun, particularly when I had a chance to speak with students interested in becoming writers.

I took my Nuts 'N Bolts of Story Submitting seminar on the road to Design and Architecture Senior High. DASH is one of the premiere high schools in America. I gave the lecture to two writing classes. The students were amazing. I wish I was half as on the ball as they were when I was their age.
